Subject: Chinese Community Tsunami Relief Events

Dear Beijing Association Members,

As we were celebrating Christmas and New Year, the world was shocked by one

of the worst natural disasters. In the wake of the 9.0-magnitude earthquake

that struck Dec. 26, tens and thousands of lives were lost within hours and

millions of tsunami survivors, who were already struggling to cope with a

catastrophic disaster, were plagued by unrelenting rainfall, flash floods

and severe aftershocks.

We believe many of our members are joining the world community in the

largest disaster relief operation in history. The American Red Cross and

many US companies have provided donation channels. Now the Chinese community

in Greater Los Angeles with the support of the Eastern International Bank

provides another tax-deductible donation channel. The news is available at

Jan. 7's major Chinese newspapers. The donation form and details is

available at http://www.beijingusa.org/docs/tsunamirelief.doc . Please send

the check and form to: Beijing Association, 2720 Sunset Hill Drive, West

Covina, CA 91791.

Also a charitable performance by outstanding musicians, singers and dancers

will be presented at 7 PM on Saturday Jan. 15 at San Gabriel Civic

Auditorium. Beijing Association has tickets available for our members.

Please contact sikun@yahoo.com with your name, ticket numbers, and address

by Wednesday Jan. 12 for tickets. The tickets are free for our members and

voluntary donation at the performance is encouraged.

Beijing Association encourages our members to take advantage of above

donation channels and join other community effort in the relief. Together we

will extend our love and care to those Southern Asian people in need.
