Subject: The new PUAASC executive committee wants you!
Dear Fellow PUAASC members,
As the newly elected President of PUAASC I want to thank you on behalf of myself and our new Vice Presidents for your support at the recent election. I am honored to have the chance to lead this terrific organization and I hope that our performance in office will justify the confidence that you have shown in your elected officers.
However, in order for us to be successful we also need your help. The strength of an organization such as PUAASC is largely dependent on the willingness of all members to contribute their time and talents for the benefit of each other. We have an astonishing array of well-accomplished professional members and talented student members. It is now a good time for you to come forward to us and devote some time, energy and your skills to further PUAASC.
You can be assured that your contribution to PUAASC will result in great rewards to yourself as well. There are many benefits to serving on the PUAASC Executive Committee: first, you will have the chance to work and make friends with a group of talented and interesting alumni; second, you can enhance your administration and management skills; third, you can extend your personal and professional network among the Chinese communities in southern California.
I have identified the following high-priority goals during my term: more useful events to help the members with career development; interesting activities to enrich alumni’s social lives; better communication within PUAASC, with PKU and with other local Chinese/American communities; successful fundraising. To fulfill those goals we need outstanding people to join the Executive Committee. Qualified candidates are expected be an enthusiastic team player with a passion to serve the community. If you have a specific talent in recreation, entertainment, finance, or public relations, please let us know. We will then assign you to a proper sub-committee to better serve the members.
To volunteer your service or to ask for more information, you may contact us at info@pku.org. Please attach a letter of introduction or resume to your message. We welcome as many responses as possible although not everyone can be accepted for a position.
Together we can make a difference.
Yours truly,
Hongyu Zhang, Ph.D.
President, PUAASC
