1) Invitation - Dinner with Shanghai Jiao Tong University President on Tue 4/15

Dear Alumni & Friends:

Shanghai Jiao Tong University President Zhang Jie 张杰 will visit LA on Tuesday April 15. This will be his first trip to LA after taking the helm of SJTU in November 2006. President Zhang will love to meet with alumni and outstanding scholars in Southern California. He will make presentation on the latest SJTU development, overseas recruitment plan, as well as potential cooperation opportunities with SJTU.

A cocktail party and dinner meeting will be held for our alumni and friends to meet with President Zhang. The details are as follows:

2) 中国旅美科协2008 年专家回国访问团

在国务院侨务办公室的大力支持下, 中国旅美科协决定组建专家回国访问团.参加6月29日在武汉举行的”华创会”.

华侨华人创业发展洽谈会(简称“华创会”)由国务院侨务办公室和湖北省人民政府暨武汉市人民政府共同主办。洽谈会以交流、合作、创业、发展为主题。其宗旨是推动华侨华人的技术与资金相互结合，促进华侨华人企业创新和事业发展，增进华侨华人住在国与湖北的经济技术交流合作，在互惠互利的基础上，实现共同发展。

“旅美科协访问团”将由各行业的专家，学者和企业家组成。成员均拥有研究生教育学历及多年海外名校或公司/企业工作的经历。这些成员中部分还曾任各届旅美科协总会会长或分会会长. 成员所擅长的专业基本函盖生物医学，IT, 环境保护,教育和

金融等领域。

我们将在“华创会”期间,举行“中国旅美科协专题讲演会”. 并与国内相关单位和人士进行广泛的接触和交流。还将与国务院侨务办公室,湖北省,武汉市的领导进行直接的交流.

“旅美科协访问团”还将借此机会在“华创会”期间举行庆祝中国旅美科协成立16周年的庆祝会. 在庆祝会上将表彰与会的历任各届旅美科协总会会长们对中国旅美科协的健康发展所作出的积极贡献，感谢各界,特别是国务院侨务办公室和驻美使馆对我们的支持， 并借此契机扩大旅美科协与国内各界尤其是各个专业协会的交流和合作，以建立更长久和牢固的联系。

希望旅美科协的广大会员积极参与。
