My name is Rocky Fan, PKU 06 alumni in electronic science and

international relation (I got two degrees in four years). I am now a

Master student of International Economics/Finance at Texas A&M

University. I got your contact information from the Website of Peking

University. I am graduating on August this year, and I am looking for an

entry level position in finance industry at present. I just wonder

whether our PKUers' association in South California can give me some

help for my job hunting.

My bachelor degree in electronic engineering at Peking U equipped me

with strong analytical & quantitative skills. I also completed my

internship program at the Chicago Office of HSBC, one of the largest

financial companies in the world last summer. I have good interpersonal

skills as well; for example, I participated in a lot of student

organizations and out curricular activities. Unfortunately, the job

market has been very tough after the subprime crisis deteriorated,

especially for international students in the USA. I dropped a lot of

resumes but did not get many responses. Since San Fransisco and Los

Angelis are all financial center of western United States, I think some

of our alumni must work in finance industry. Would you mind passing my

email to them? I would like to take a few minutes of their time over

phone to hear a bit where they see the field headed and any

recommendation they might have for a novice.
