On behalf of Peking University Alumni Association at Southern California (PUAASC), we hope that this email finds you and your loved ones in good health and good spirits. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continuing support.

You are receiving this email because sometime in the past you registered your contact information at PUAASC website (www.pku.org). For most of people, the information has not been updated for many years. Many alumni and friends have since moved to a better position. In order to better serve all PUAASC members, we urge you to re-register your information at our newly updated website (http://www.pku.org/membership ). Old information will be discarded after your registration. Please be assured that your information will be kept strictly confidential and will not be used in any commercial purpose.

The benefits of new registration include

- Better privacy. The new system makes sure that the personal information of registered alumni is not exposed to public as it is right now in the old system. Such information is only visible to other registered alumni members. Moreover, some sensitive information, such as phone number and detailed street address, is not even visible to other registered alumni.

- More user-friendly. Registered alumni can now browse and search other alumni using much broader criteria such as English/Chinese name, PKU background, and current working/studying profession. Registered members can also modify/delete their membership themselves without relying on PUAASC web masters.

- More function, speed and security. The new system is powered by the latest MySQL relational database and PHP language framework, providing more functions, faster speed, and better security than the old file-based system.

We encourage you to spread the news to other PKU alumni who are not PUAASC member. Friends who are not associated with PKU are also welcome.
