HEAD, CHINA RESEARCH OFFICE – ISI GROUP (www.isigrp.com)

Job Description

ISI Group (International Strategy & Investment), a highly respected Wall Street

research firm, has an immediate opening for the head of our new Shanghai (or

Beijing) investment research office. We produce research on China’s economy,

equity markets, sectors, industries and policy, and their relation to the U.S. and global economy and markets.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on China’s economic and investment topics and on

sectors like energy, commodities, banking, etc

• Assist in writing and conceptualizing research reports

• Remain up-to-date with all matters of importance to economic performance

and to investment sector developments

• Contribute to regularly published research reports on China’s economy

and financial markets

• Host global visitors to China on their research visits

• Travel internationally to visit ISI staff and institutional clients

• Maintain and develop relationships with government officials and industry

executives

This position reports to the Head of China Research in America (Donald

Straszheim).

This is a great growth opportunity involving international exposure to major

institutional investors, media and public figures.

Required Qualifications

• Native Mandarin speaker plus fluent English

• Graduate degree in economics, finance or business management

• Western education is a plus

• 5-10 years’ experience in China’s economy analysis field

• Relevant industry, sector or government background

• Abundant knowledge of U.S. economy, markets and policy

• Creative thinker and good writer with strong analytical skills

• Able to work in a small and collegial team

• Passion for never-ending research

• Senior contacts in macro, industry, financial sector is a plus
