posted on Oct 27 2010

Time:

Monday, November 8, 6:30pm - 9:00pm

Location:

Szechwan Restaurant

924 N Sepulveda Boulevard

Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

This workshop will be led by Ming Lo, most widely known in Hollywood

as an actor and director, appearing in highly acclaimed projects such

as Million Dollar Baby, Jarhead, Pursuit of Happyness, NCIS, among

others. Perhaps even more impressive is Ming's successful career in

investment advising along with his educational background, holding

degrees from both Stanford and Harvard.

Ming would argue that our economy runs in cycles and that bubbles -

and busts - are inevitable in the capitalist system. If we pay

attention, there are ways to spot the tops and the bottoms of these

cycles. We may not always know the exact depth or height of each

cycle, but there are indicators that can tell us a top or a bottom is

on the horizon.

Over the last 20 years, we have seen four stock crises and two real

estate tops. Having some indication that these events are on the

horizon could make a significant difference in the decisions we make,

in our investing, and in our personal lives. "Finding Opportunities in

the New Normal," will discuss the nature of past stock and real estate

cycles, as well as the indicators that can help us anticipate these

events. Moreover, we are now in the midst of great opportunities in

the stock market. We'll talk about the nature and timing of the

recovery and how we can take advantage of opportunities before us.

Following this event, we will not only have a better understanding of

the present state of the economy based on lessons from the past, but

we'll also have a chance to explore what the future might hold.
