Dear Alumni,

As many of you may have known, another tragic life-loss of PKU Alumni occurred.

Two students from Peking University's mountaineering team were killed in an

avalanche on Tibet's Shishapangma, the world's 14th highest mountain, while

three others are still missing and presumed dead. The five are Lin Liqing, Lei

Yu, Lu Zhen, Yang Lei and Zhang Xingbo. They belong to Beida's

mountain-climbing club.
